Pacific Health Laboratories (PHLI), Woodbridge, NJ, has entered into a strategic alliance with Cargill, Incorporated, Minneapolis, MN, for the launch of PHLI’s ready-to-drink (RTD) sports product, Accelerade®. As part of the agreement, PHLI will incorporate Ascend™, Cargill’s new branded ingredient, trehalose, into the sports drink and Cargill will provide substantial distribution and manufacturing resources to PHLI for the launch of Accelerade in RTD form. Until now, Accelerade was only available as a powder.
